I never cared about my fitness until 2020 as I was not very obese and also I was active. Then I started with the target of reducing belly fat. I did badminton and marathons but did not change my diet. These cardio activities along with home food helped a lot. But I didn't realise that I also lost muscle.
Then I did yoga and meditation. It added body flexibility and mind relaxation. And also continued badminton along with cycling cardio. I felt energetic but still did not gain my muscles.
Based on multiple YouTube videos, I started with weight training excercises along with badminton and cycling cardio activities. But dropped yoga and meditation, losing the flexibility training.
I think we need all four - cardio activities, weight training, yoga and meditation - for a healthy fitness journey. It may be difficult to follow all four everyday. But we can do in a cycle, 2-3 types of activities at any point of time and changing them every 3-4 months. Ofcourse follow healthy diet all the time :)
